RILC’s employment unit provides a full array of both supported employment and independent employment services to
job seekers with disabilities. RILC is a Social Security Employment Network (EN) and participates in the ‘Ticket to Work’
program. In addition, RILC works co-operatively with ACCES-VR (Adult Career and Continuing Educational Services –
Vocational Rehabilitation) the state vocational agency, as well as the NYS Department of Labor and other agencies that
may be relevant to specific individuals.
RILC’s employment services are ‘person-centered.’ As such, these services are tailored to each individual. The process
of creating an employment plan, plus the resulting job search, will be developed together by the RILC staff person
and the job seeker, as equal members of the employment team. Following placement, ongoing support services will
be available for either a time-limited period or a more expanded period, depending on the specific situation. A list of
