What is the TRIPS Program?
The TRIPS program (Transportation Resources, Intra-county, for people who are Physically
Disabled or Senior Citizens) operates as a curbside Para-transit bus service for Rockland County.
Rockland Independent Living Center is an approved Certifying agency for people with disabilities
who need this service. A TRIPS card allows you to use the TRIPS buses and pay a reduced fare on
TOR, TZX, Red and Tan (within Rockland), SV Jitney and CMT.
Who is eligible for TRIPS?
Rockland County residents with physical or mental disabilities, or who are over 60 years old, who
find it difficult or impossible to use municipal, fixed route bus service

How do people apply for Regular TRIPS, and Reduced Fare card service through RILC?
1. You can download and print an application or you can obtain a hard copy of the application by
calling RILC, providing your name and mailing address and requesting that one be sent to your
home.
2. Complete the application, which includes a section where your doctor certifies that you
are disabled. RILC cannot process your TRIPS or reduced fare card application without signed
approval from your physician.
3. Call RILC and arrange for an appointment with an advocate who can assist you with the process.
Bring the completed application and $2.00 to the appointment. Acceptable forms of payment are

•Regular TRIPS Service for people with disabilities costs $2.00 a ride each way.
•ADA Para transit Service Trips for people with disabilities costs $4.00 a ride each way, but
people who sign up for this service have priority seating over Regular TRIPS customers..

Trips Service is available Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, with
limited service available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday. Ride requests must be made in
advance by calling (845)364.8747.
